Formerly known as the Community Care Services Program (CCSP), the Elderly and Disabled Waiver Program provides home and community-based services to seniors who prefer to receive care at home rather than in a nursing home. This waiver covers services that aren't otherwise covered by traditional Medicaid, including home-delivered meals, respite care and personal care.
The SOURCE waiver provides assistance for adult day care, personal care, home-delivered meals and respite care. This waiver is available for seniors aged 65 and older or those with disabilities who require nursing home care.
The state offers non-Medicaid Home and Community-Based services to help seniors live in their homes or within the community. It helps pay for meals, nutrition and wellness education, counseling, recreation, home modifications, telephone reassurance, adult day care and education and support groups.
Eligibility for Medicaid in Georgia requires seniors to meet income and asset limits set by the state. This limit is based on 300% of the federal poverty level. For individuals, the income limit is $30,276 per year with assets totaling no more than $2,000. In a two-person household, the income limit is $60,552 or $30,276 per person with assets of $3,000.
